    Hi,
I want to be able to shut down external access to my wireless router to prevent unauthorized use after hours without taking the server off line. Is there a command line argument or similar command procedure for this? I am using a Siemans Speedstream 4100 modem and a Hawking HWR54G (802.11G) wireless router. Thanks in advance.

Not sure about a command line but you could put a firewall rule that is time dependant ie internet connection only allowed from 8am to 10pm.

I think that this would be a global setting in as much as it would just shut down internet access be it wired or wireless.

    Perhaps someone has another suggestion.

    Good Luck

Thanks. I'll give it a try. If anyone else can do it without shutting down the internet to server connection, I'd like to hear about it.

Check your manual for your Hawking, Chapter 6, pages 44 through 50, Access Control.
"Default" group has all computers not assigned a group.
Put the server in a group by itself and restrict "default" group for your purposes.

Thanks. I never received a manual, but will see if I can download one.
