    Hey

Well, I have a router at the back of my PC connected to the modem. Now, in order for someone to go on the laptop or use the PS3 internet (wirelessly) , I have to connect my PC to the router and not DIRECTLY into the back of the modem. When I do this, my internet cuts me off when either playing CoD5 and / or using Skype after about 10 minutes. As the whole point of having a router I would like to play MoH / CoD and someone to be using the laptop on the internet at the same time. Could it be that the router isnt strong enough for CoD and Skype to be working and use the laptop at the same time?

If I was to get a stronger router (open to suggestions), would I be able to playing CoD / Skype and someone use the laptop / PS3 internet at the same time?

    Thanks
    Dan

Well, first thing is that, yes in order for the router to do it's job (distribute the internet across your home network) the modem has to be plugged into the router. The router may not be your problem at all. Everything you say you're doing is VERY bandwidth extensive.
It may be possible that your service provider has a bandwidth cap if some sort and your getting cut off. If not then perhaps your router is the weak link.

It will keep ONE machine on (Laptop or Desktop), if we try both at the same time, and disconnect one.
