I ordered a wireless router and then found out I might need a wireless network adapter. How do i know if I need the adapter or not?

I am showing that board only has a wired connection standard that is:

    Onboard LAN
LAN ChipsetNVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP
    Max LAN Speed10/100/1000Mbps

Keep in mind that for me nothing beats a wired connection for your primary use. I use my wireless for portable devices only but whatever you need to do.

Most cards come with an antenna and I prefer a simple USB wireless adapter with either a moveable antenna or an antenna on a wire that gives you the flexibility to move it a few feet if your signal is weak. These work just as well as anything else without the hassle of opening your computer up.

For example, this one has the long cable for the antenna allowing you to place it anywhere within a few feet of the usb port you plug into. I have used this one and prefer it:

Otherwise, here is an example of a simple antenna by Hawking, an often overlooked excellent company:

Thanks for your quick reply. The reason I asked this question is because I have a device in which I need the router for. My cable modem has only one ethernet port. The device I have is a LG ST600 Smart TV Upgrader and I bought it mainly for Netflix. The wireless adapter I ordered is a Linksys WUSB54GC Compact Wireless Network USB, the router is also Lynksys. My device is only a couple feet from my computer.

Your upgrader has wifi built in according to specs on the net. you may need the adapter for your tv if it doen't already have wifi though.
