wireless router

I am about to do wireless home networking, ie, connect a laptop to a desktop computer with a scanner and a printer all with USB connections.
I am so confused what to get because there are so many wireless net working products out there.
Someone told me don't get a wireless router with printer server due to configuration difficulties.

desktop: XP pro, wired cable internet connection
laptop: XP home, WLan 11g connection

 

Netgear has good products D links is good you just want to make shure you get something with 54mps or better 108mps as far as sharing the printer you can do that via your os just go to control panel set up home or office network follow the wizard. After that you can acess the printer from your lap top.

 

i'd probably stick with a name brand router (ie. netgear, d-link, linksys), in case you need tech support, etc., also make sure it has a built in hardware firewall. i've got a d-link (router) for travel, linksys (laptop card), as well as a netgear (pci card) for my 2nd home computer in the study. i pretty much just chose them by price and features (but price 1st). as mentioned, you can setup your printer so you can access it wirelessly from your laptop (as well as files). - sos

 

I use a Lysys Wireless G 4.2 router that has security built in and that is prgramable and would recomend it
