Got my cable service hooked up yesterday and was successful in connecting my laptop (wireless) to my network. I have antivirus and spyware protection on both the wired and wireless pc's. I am using a linksys router which features a firewall. I gave my network a unique name and changed the admin password on the router. Should I change the router name? Are there any issues with file and print sharing? Have I forgotten anything? Paranoid about security!

With wireless it is a good idea not to broadcast your SSID. If you disable this in the router settings you have to go through the wireless manager software on yur wireless machines and have it add a connection with the SSID of your wireless network.

Basically all this does is keeps someone close enough to pick up the signal from your access point from knowing that it is even there.
