WMP 10 script related issue, advice needed

...running XPHome w/sp2 with broadband...pc is clean throughout. When trying to play MSN music videos...when I click on a selected video to play it, an IE script error box opens that says 'error has occured in the script on this page' and that 'object doesnt support this property or method', with a yes or no option to continue running scripts on the page. I've changed several settings in WMP 10 and some IE6 internet zone custom security settings back and forth to no avail. I compared this behavior with WMP 10 on my office pc today, same settings...yet the videos play on the office pc. Anyone experienced this, or know what the best settings should be? Thanks.

 

Try deleting your temp files and see if that solves it.

1) In Internet Explorer click Tools, then click 'Internet Options'.

2) Select the 'General' tab and find the 'Temporary Files' section half way down the page.

3) Click the 'Delete Files' button and in the window that opens, check the box for 'Delete all offline content'.

4) Click OK and all the files are erased.

Thanks, I had already cleaned those up, still no change tho. All my other WMP content opens/plays ok, just not these music videos. The interface play window opens but I never get the 'connecting to media' indication.

 

Issue resolved...by uninstalling that recent critical WMP 10 Windows Update. Presto! Music videos now open and play. Interesting.
