WMP problems

I am running Window XP Home. Lately, I have run into a problem with burning CDs. I cannot run WMP11 there seems to be to many conflicts with my system. I spend more time trying to get it to run properly. I went back to WMP 10 and had no problem most of the time. At times, when I burn it just pokes along and may take up up to an hour or so just burning a small audio CD. Right now, I have been trying to burn a CD that has been going through the process i.e., inspection. It has been doing this for 45 minutes. It is making what looks like progress but unbelievably slow. Do you have any ideas as to what could be the problem? I don't know what to do at this point. I appreciate anything that might help me.

Open my computer, right click on cd drive in question, choose properties, under the recording tab (see attachment 1). Open the Player, go to tools, options, check your settings under the Rip Music and Devices tabs. Got to run, will be on later.
Bug

 

I went to the screens and didn't see anything unusual. Still having a lot of problems with system slowing down. I burnt two CDs and they went faster than this morning but it slowed down again.

 

This isn't necessarily a WMP problem. Your burner could be giving out on you. Have you tried other burning or ripping programs? Do you have the same troubles with them?

 

I am using two different computers and both are reacting the same. Now this evening they are burning fine.
