WMP11 problem

    I downloaded the beta of this today (for XP) and its pretty good but i prefere wmp10, so when i try to install it back again, it cant because wmp11 still exists and i've tryed going to remove windows components and that didn't work either.

    can anyone help?

    I didn't even know that it was out for public beta yet. As far as I knew, WMP11 was only in beta for Vista.

    There have been many reports that WMP 11 is currently out publicly for Windows XP. Microsoft's webpage for it as posted on PC World's website doesn't seem to work right now though. It could be up soon.



    I would try going to add/remove and checking the "show updates" option. I believe it's listed as an update which you can uninstall.

    Apparently the one that leaked, is an older build that the one that will be released soon, which has many many important fixes not in the leaked build....

    Did you create a restore point before installing? if so you can system restore back to the point before installing WMP11, ( note: you will loose any post WMP11 installed software/updates etc in restoring back )

    I have it up and running on my Laptop (WMP11 Public Beta), and have had no problems with it yet Cyberwil. Of course I only use Released Microsoft Beta's, not Torrents.

    Were did you download WMP11 from, was it a leaked version?

    Get the Vista Transformation Pack here at Majorgeeks. it includes Windows Media Player 11 skin.

    While good is the transformation pack, thats not the answer to the question, the poster wants to uninstall WMP11 from their PC and revert back to WMP10.
