wmplayer.exe

Hi,

This is my very first post so please bare with me, and i must say i am so happy to have found this site.

I am having a huge problem with wmplayer.exe. Everytime i start wmp10 it works fine no problem. When i close it...the process remains. When I end it it just bounces back and restarts. This also has a load on the cou usage and goes up all the way to 100% but then lowers to between 20-40%.

Could anyone give me a hint as to where i should start?

A system virus scan wouldn't hurt, it may not be the player at all.

thanks for the reply. I have norton internet security, adaware, and spy doctor. Still it keeps popping up. the only way to stop it is to block it in the tasks

 

I am not sure exactly what is wrong, if anything is wrong ... if it is malware or software. I belive in the motto if it aint broke dont fix it. I think i have managed to stabilise the problem.

I have run the spy bot, adaware, and norton. Norton didnt find anything (so much for the internet security but spybot did find plenty of infections. These have been deleted. Also i realised that sometimes i would try and shut wmp and a message would pop up saying "do you want to quit the coversion in the background" ... strange. So i disabled all types of sync features in wmp that go on in the background. I also deleted the temporary files that it saves by doing this conversion function.

Voila....so far so good.

 

I also forgot to mention that I use firefox and uninstalled the foxy tunes extension...
