Wolfenstein too hard to control on PC?

This may bring out the trolls, but in the first five minutes I wanted to return the game. It obviously is not optimized for the PC.
I had to do a short sprint into a slide to escape. Not too hard one would think, but that requires holding W, pressing left shift then pressing left control keys. Pressing them out of order fails, pressing them at the same time fails. I can re-map the left control key but I think the point is made that this game on the PC is an afterthought. There are probably some who can hold W and hit left shift with their pinky and roll back onto the left control key with good control, but they are the minority I suspect.

 

dude, reconfigure your controls.

Its just as easy to do a slide move in wolf as it is in Far Cry 3 for me. the biggest problem i had was figuring out there WAS a slide move. I will admit some of the controls are wonky, but imo, not because it was a port, but because they didnt think it through.

Or maybe because im a lefty, and use my right hand for all movement it helps. UP arrow to run, right ctrl to crouch, num pad ins to jump, right shift to sprint. So up arrow, click shift starts sprinting, quickly hit right ctrl and it slides right under where i need to go.

Also, even i had to practice a bit. Its definitely easier in FC3 though.

and as a lefty, i always have to remap controls. I cant even play sleeping dogs as there isnt even an option to remap controls. so while i feel you on some games being console friendly, i cant even partially agree with you on this one.

 

It is less than two inches from W to left shift. In fact, there is only the 'A' key in between.

Unless you are not a touch typist, I'm not sure why that one in particular would be difficult.

 

Because you use the same finger for shift and control if you are a touch typist and need to hit them in succession so all three are down. This is a shooter so timing is critical. Sorry if I did not make that clear. I have remapped the control key but my point stands, the controls were not well thought out on the PC.

 

You do know that to run you just have to tap the run key right, not hold it down?

maybe thats where the confusion lies. Im definitely not the most coordinated person but i can slide with pretty much no problems in the game(once i figured out how).

Or maybe im just not a touch typist. Or somehow i can just adapt better which i dont believe as im 45 and very clumsy

and if you use the same finger for shift and ctrl, then im impressed. I use my thumb for ctrl and hit shift with my index finger.
