Wondershare data recovery?

Was wondering could I get some help with this if anyone could I'd be grateful. My partners mother wiped her whole computer and she had very important pictures of her mother and father who recently pasted away. I've used wondershare if has found 1.68GB of images but when I try to open any image it comes up black in picture viewer and when I try to open with IranView it comes up as, can't read file header! Unknown file format, empty file or file not found. (For Unicode file names please activate the Unicode plugin in properties-languages

It would mean the world to her if I could get them back! Could someone help me out.

It should be able to recover them files it has done so for me in the past and it is free to use and simple to under stand.
