Won't boot

Technical information ***STOP: 0X000000ED, 0X8638B970, 0X00000006, 0X00000000, 0X00000000

Blue screen of death. My granddaughter shut down by pressing button. Will not go into restore either. Tried reloading Win xp home with boot disk I made from partiction off of my desktop but it will not work. The disks work because I have reload windows on other computers with disks. Any ideas?

Is your XP Home disc a standard installation disc? Does the computer recognize the disc as bootable?

We have to get you to a command prompt so you can try a chkdisk. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=145429
