    salute,
just befor I start fine tuning this pc WITH A FREAKIN SLEDGE HAMMER I'm hoping you can tell me why, when I'm surfin, my pc will load the page, navigate thru the page, but the minute I try to link off it just sits with the perimeter of the links window being all that is visable. even a d/l on your site acted the same. also the page I'm viewing will jump up or down when I go to highlight a link to view and/or d/l. and it doesnt stop there. I've recently installed a LG cd burner, but when I try to burn an audio/mp3 cd, a window appears informing me that I need the file wnaspi32.dll. and being a geek newbie, I got really revved when I noticed on another site that this file doesnt apply to win98. . I d/l'd neros wnaspi32.dll and installed it into the nero folder. ditto with adaptec aspi installed to system32. and had the win98 cd in the cd rom. since installing nero I now get a button thats says bad or...?file and still wont load nero. it almost seems there is a block or something that stops all linking offsite. this is the second LG cd burner I've purchased. the first one I aquired loded nero fine [not on this pc]and burnt the best cd's I've heard. if anyone has a cure please let me know, this is driving me nuts.
this pc is a dell 500 p 3 with 128 OMB Ram.win98 os 4.10. 1998 also I've just noticed system properties says this is a p2. the processer I've had in my hands says p3. this mess started with a problem[virus,trojan...?] that got me the blue screen of dsath.I did a format and win98 reload and everthing seemed fine. please save me.

I had experience a lot of problems with W98se before problems appears to be random even installing the system in the past has been fine start giving me major problems. I repeatedly repartioned and reformat and did fdisk/mbr untill finally It decided to install the OS succesfully.
There after I install one application at a time and reboot to make sure it does not cause any problems before I install the next.
Some geeks suggest to check memory so I did a MEMTEST86 for ten hours and it find nothing wrong.
I suggest start from scratch sometimes it is faster than chasing ghosts.
    my 2c worth

As far as the ASPI is concerned, Nero doesn't use system ASPI.

It installs it's own aspi file. XP doesn't have an ASPI layer. Windows 9x does, but it's not very stable.

Use FORCE ASPI and the Nero Info Tool (Included with Nero) to double-check it's working okay.
