Not bad, been working mostly. School comin up in 3 weeks Then its 8 hours work, 3 hours school so you won't see to many posts then. On the real life side me and my g/f got our own condo. Been with her 5 years and are engaged. You may remember some discussions about her on the older messageboards Got a job I love at a small company, doing computer consulting. I Wrote a jobs search database in ASP that has been sold to 3 different sites. Do alot of support and programming. On my third big program, although I regret its all in VB 6. I dont get choice on language.

Thats pretty much it, school (computer science major) work and my animals. Ill post pics of them sometimes (dogs an cats)

They have machines there but everyone is required to have a laptop of their own or put a deposit down on a school one, mostly everyone has their own machines. Big wireless network, was first school to have one supposedly. Security is horrible for the wireless tho. Anybody can get on and you can just browse everyone's pc's for file sharing or other vulnerabilities

Couple people hosting stuff out there on our t-3 network. Wonder how long before RIAA breaks into our school.

 

Been doing well here. Wrote an employee policy tracking database in VBA, an intranet application for maint,central supply, pc problem submissions and other misc stufff.. couple of websites here and there and some small logic only programs (ASP3). As you've seen, I'm still working on my families website which I plan to make into a product. I'm guinea piggin' my family and friends to see what they think. Still have a lot of work to do on it. Might take me another 4 or 5 weeks to get a version out with all the features that I want. Figured I'd sell it for like 30.00 bux a pop.

You doing ASP.NET yet? I just started it a few weeks back but decided to go on hold until 2.0 comes out. Better feature set in 2.0 and no sense in learning the older 1.1 when 2.0 does so much more.

 

nah I havnt gotten into .net yet. I dont know why I havnt treaded that water.


Me and a friend are actually writing a intranet that we want to sell to my boss, he uses intranets.com and pays alot for it a year. We gonna make copies of all their features then port it to PHP hopefully. We originally wanted PHP but his web server is a windows server, this way we can have both. Hopefully we can make a few bucks off it. We just got started tho, All I got done is the login. He's more artistic, im better at coding. I got a small forum for me and my friends, helping us keep in touch since people moved away and what not. URL is in my sig. Im learning PHP off that. Trying to make a blogger but havnt had luck yet. I do need to learn .net tho and I think I may switch our project to .net.

Learned alot of stuff about website hacking to help me desgin stuff thats more hacker proof. SQL injection etc. I got a good link to a place that has actual challenges and stuff at the site that really help you get a hands on learning experience. PM me if you want the URL. I dont know how appropriate it is to post a link to a hacking site here (not warez or destructive hacking, but its still hacking)

 

Coolness.. yeah, PM me that link, I'll check it out. One of the best things you can do to prevent SQL inj is to sanitize your data.... I have functions that I've written that I use all the time to help me check for numeric data types and regular expressions for typical form entries (phone#, SSN, email etc).. .net does all that for you which is REALLY REALLY nice. VS 2005 is going to include an account creation and login form template that you can drag and drop and configure.. how crazy is that!!
