Word 2003 - invisible text

I'm running Word 2003 - sp2. When I display an old document, it appears as blank. When I use Print Preview, the full text is visible. It occurs with tables in the document or with pasted images. Is there a parameter which should be activated?

 

Yup, Word seems to be the only major word processing program that seems to purposely break old formatting with new releases for no particular reason. Yet people keep buying it... Try loading the old document into Open Office's word processor and then save it out again in .doc format or .rtf and see if you can load it into Word "03 and see the text.

I fixed it by ticking Drawing in Tools -> Options -> Display. Thank you for your suggestions.

Zepper, you're absolutely right but we are sometimes a tributary of other people who use it. However, I've been doing my utmost with friends and neighbors to convince them to avoid Vista, which is a superb swindle, and run dual boot with xp or w2k-sp4 if they're stuck with a pre-installed Vista machine.
