Word 2007 paste error

Has anyone had any problems with Word 2007 restarting every time you try to paste anything in it? I can't tell if it is from a patch that was installed or not. Thanx.

No, I have not heard of that error. Was the patch you installed a valid Microsoft patch? I reccomend you unistall the patch and then try again. If that doesn't work, try unistalling and reinstalling word.

Hi

What you may have is a corrupt normal.dotm file which is the global setting for the document settings, so some steps are below to try and correct a possible corrupt normal.dotm

Rename the normal.dotm ( its .dotm only in Office 2007, in other Office versions its just .dot ) to do this locate the file and rename it to oldnormal.dotm and next time Word 2007 opens it will look for this file, when not found it will recreate a new default one so any edits you did to the basic normal doc will need to be added back.

location of normal.dotm should be in this location C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

Thank you, I believe that changing the normal.dotm file fixed the problem. There must have been something corrupt in the file. I had forgotten about the base document that opens, it's been a long time since I've had to deal with a problme like this.
