I know this is a long shot.......

I am helping someone who has lost some important work a day before a major conference. Unfortunately she overwrote her latest work with an earlier draft. There is no other backup. Is there any way to access the previous (much more complete) save?

    Its Word 2000 on an XP SP2, 2Ghz P4 with 512 ram.

    Thanks

Unless you have automatic backups turned on in Word I think you are out of luck. If you do have automatic backups turned on you need to look for the original filename but with a WBK extension.

    Good luck.
