    Hi,

Well...here's the problem: I'm printing a 3 page document, with the first page being on my letterhead. The letterhead consists of my name, address, etc., with a faint background logo that's fairly small (approx. 1.5 inches square). I have no trouble using this as a letterhead (i.e., the picture remains behind the text, where it should be). However, when I recently drafted this 3 page document and wanted to number the pages, after I insert page numbers the logo comes to the front, totally blocking my letterhead (name, address, etc.). Without page numbers it's fine.

I've tried putting page numbers in via the usual method (Insert > Page Numbers), and I've tried adding page numbers via the View > Header/Footer, and inserting them as footers. Either way, same result--the picture prints in front of the text. Further, when the picture is clicked on and formatting is checked (Format > Layout), it shows that it's behind the text. In other words, it looks like it's in the right spot, and Word indicates it's correctly formatted, but it always prints in front.

Thanks for any help and suggestions,

    Win

    Welcome to Major Geeks.

When you click on the picture.. your pictures tool bar should appear. Click on the tool bar item for "text wrapping" and select the option for "behind text" and see if that works for you :)

    Hi,

First, thanks for the welcome. Second, thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work---I got the same result: logo is behind text until I add page numbers, then it prints on top of the text. Tried adding page numbers and then rechecking the drawing toolbar > Text Wrapping, and it does show "behind text," but doesn't print that way. I've tried just about everything with this problem and have yet to find a solution.

Thanks again, and I'm open to any further suggestions.

Win (P.S. I was born in Syracuse but am now on the other side of the country.)
