Hi I was wondering if someone could recomend a good free word processor?

Does Mozilla, the FireFox guys make one?

Looking for an alternative to WordPad.

    Thanks.

Google for "Open Office" it's the best free one about and completely compatible with Microsoft Office.

I wouldn't go so far to say completely compatible.

Thanks, my last PC died on me and I forgot the name "Open office" 'cause it's kind of generic but now that I see it I remember. I'll get that one back first but will give some of the others a shot.

    thanks.

    I recommend SoftMaker FreeOffice.

It's compatibility to Microsoft Office formats is much better than with LibreOffice or OpenOffice. If you need interoperability it's the best available free alternative. Furthermore, it doesn't need much resources (it's tiny compared to ther office suites, but offers even more functions), it's very fast, you can use it portably, etc..
