Word seems confused

    When opening files in Word 97, sometimes Word will try to access the floppy drive first, even though the file is in My Documents. It seems to happen with files that were once on a floppy but have since been transfered onto the hard disk.
    Is there any way to get Word to stop looking on the floppy drive for the file? It sure slows down the File - Open process.
