Word ??

Guys, is Microsoft Word and Word Pad the same thing ? If not , is there such a thing as a 'freebie' for Microsoft Word ? If not, how do I restore my Word Pad, or can I ?

MS Word and Wordpad are NOT the same. MS word you must purchase either alone or with the MS Office suite. Wordpad comes with the OS.

What happend to wordpad?

There are free office suites that are similar to MS Word

Thanks for responding to this question, I've posted it before and no one responded. I went to the link you posted and started downloading it ( it only had one on the page ), and it showed 4 HRS and x amount of minutes to download !!! And 45.0 MB of space eek: ), that's a lot of space isn't it ? Anyway, the 4 hrs scared me off, and I wasn't realy happy about the 45.0 MB's either. I'll be waiting for further input !!

read the description. it's more than just a word program. 45 MB is rather small but it sounds like you're on dial up which I could definately see as a problem for you.

I really can't buy a cd, I would love to, but I'm a single mom on disability and the absent dad isn't paying any child support so my budget doesn't allow buying cd's of any kind. I'm crunching just to have dialup, I probably shouldn't, but it's only $10 per mo, so I sqeeze it out to stay on line !! So I ask around to see what 'freebies' are safe and good to use ! I really appreciate your help.

A lot of these freeware programs are usually bundled on PC magazine covers.

Not sure where you are, but I don't think many United States magazines have CD's unfortuantely. (Don't know why that is)

Anyway, what happened to WordPad on your computer?

It's not too hard to "get back". What operating system are you using?
