Wordpress?

Does anyone write a blog with Wordpress? I'm just learning about it now, but not sure what the deal is about it... does it just make coding simpler?

I had a bit of a browse, I'm not very tech minded...so was hoping someone could explain it in a simple way So I make the blog with Wordpress...then i use this company (for example) to get the blog online? Does that apply for all wordpress blogs?

 

Few people who create blogs are very tech minded. They just follow the guides to how to create and use them:

I concur with Eldon. I use Blogger myself.

Here's my 2 cents. Hopefully it's worth at least 10 cents.
My original version of my Blog was on the now defunct MyOpera Blogging Community. When it closed down back in 2013, we were forced to find a new home. Word quickly spread that hands down, Wordpress was the undisputed Gold Standard for Blogging Platforms. It was said that it could do everything you needed and then some. It apparently had capabilities galore.

Ahhh, but there WAS a catch. For FREE ... you got very little. To actually unleash all the highly-touted mega capabilities, you'd have to PAY ... pretty much a la carte depending on what you needed. For example, as I understood it, as far as Blog Design Customizing capability ... for FREE, there was not much you could mess around with / change / customize. As I understood it, you could really only install a Header and a Background. For FREE, you could NOT customize all the molecules and nooks & crannies of your page like we could at MyOpera.

If you're not dead set on needing to have your very own, personalized Blog Design LOOK that no one else has, there IS a repository of ready made Wordpress Blog Design templates available from which you could select and install.

That said, I tried Blogger and quickly realized that it provided a much better Blog Design Customizing capability than Wordpress ... and for FREE at that. Cuz I DO need to have my very own, personalized Blog Design LOOK.
