Has anyone had problems with WordWeb 5.0.0 ?

I have just tried to install it on two computers and get this error message:

    Error

A required .DLL file WWEB32.DLL was not found...

    OK

Have downloaded it twice same results...

    Thank!

When you say downloaded it, do you mean the .dll or the app? If you have the .dll on your PC (you can use the Search in the Start menu and find it, if you don't know where it went) Then put it in the main Windows folder. I have WordWeb 4.5 and that is where WWEB32.DLL is on my machine.
If that doesn't solve your problem, then uninstall and re-install the app and let us know how it went.

Have now tried it on three computers...

    Same problem...

    Slightly different error messages:

Tried Windows 98SE, Windows 2000 Pro, and Windows XP Home.

Have downloaded from the first three links on the download page here at MajorGeeks.com.

Have you had word web on your computer before ?

    File Listing WordWeb:

    File_ID.diz
    msvcr71.dll
    ReadMe.txt
    settings.ini
    tesseract.dll
    uninst.exe
    WCaptDll.dll
    WCapture.dll
    WCustom.dll
    wordweb.chm
    WUC.dll
    WUCNT.dll
    wweb.ww3
    wweb32.exe
    wweb32new.dll
    wwnotray.exe

Note: there is no WWEB32.DLL but there is a "wweb32new.dll".

I think I will try to find an older version for testing.

Not found at Oldversion.com or Oldapps.com

    I will continue my Search...

Thanks that was version 4 but it installed and worked.

I uninstalled it and reinstalled version 5.

I located the problem, leave advanced options alone, it somehow thinks I want to install to a removable drive but installs to the program files folder anyway.

If allready messed, rename wweb32new.dll to wweb32.dll and it will work.

Take the default options during install and everything will be rosey!!
