I've worked on this stupid thing since 12:30 today and to no avail. So I'm ready to kill this thing, but before I do I thought I'd ask you guys about it and if you've heard/had problems with getting this card to install or if there's a simple step I'm missing.
    Anywho, here's my computer:

And here's my new video card:

I have not upgraded it at all since I got it. So I got this video card to hopefully play games better, but I cant get my computer to use this card instead of the old one. My old one is a Integrated Intel 3D Extreme Graphics installed on the motherboard. I'm not sure if I just have to disable it or uninstall it or what to get this other card to work. I don't know if it matters that I installed it 2 spaces above the mother board. I've tries so much I'm willing to try anything. I attached my computer devices how they appear on my computer. I also followed these directions all the way through:
    https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...asp?deptID=894
    and it didn't work
I've disabled the old video card, but then it just acts like I don't have a video card. I've done so many thing I can't even remember them all.
Any help is appreciated, thanks. I got Morrowind today and it kills me that I can't play it.

All three of your links are Dead.
Post all your spec's of your PC, also include all info of your new Video card.

    A couple of thoughts:
Some newer Video cards need lot's of power, some need power pluged directly into video card.
Does your PSU have enough juice?
When you say you disabled onboard video was this in your BIOS?
There may be some other BIOS settings to change.

None of those links work, but I dont think youll need em. First acess your BIOS when your PC boots up by hitting the "Delete" key. Now under bios, you need to find your options in where all your onboard devices are listed. You will realize when you are there when you see a list that might include

    • Lan
    • Audio
    • IEE1394
    • Wireless LAN
    • RAID
    • Gigabit/Megabit Network
    • USB Keyboard
    • USB Mouse
    • Onboard Video/ Intel Extreme Graphics
Now under Onboard Video/ IEG change it from Enabled to Disabled, escape out of there, save settings and reboot. You should get a popup finding new hardware and ready to install. If your still getting troubles, acess your bios again and look for a "link" saying VGA , it should give you an option to choose between PCI/AGP, go ahead and select AGP(asuming you bought and installed an AGP card). Good luck. and be sure your monitor is connected to your new video card.
