Hi, I have been trying to install the latest update from world of warcraft 3.2.0, but every time it gets to 87% and then my computer freezes. I have been trying to let it keep downloading for a while, but my computer keeps shutting down. My PC is fairly new, I have just bought it in May this year. Then, I decided to re-install WoW, but now the installation of it freezes at 2% and if I leave it, my computer will just shut down from being frozen.

Can anyone please help me? I have played WoW on this computer many times since i've had it. Here are my specs:

    Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor E2200 (2.4GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
    Windows Vista® Home Premium 64-Bit with SP1
    4096MB DDR2 Memory
    NVIDIA® GeForce® 7100 Chipset and nForce® 630i
    Integrated NVIDIA® GeForce® G100 with 512MB Discrete Graphic Card
    640GB SATA 7200RPM Hard Drive (2)
    Super Multi Double-Layer DVD+RW, DVD-RAM Drive Featuring Labelflash™ Technology
    14-in-One Digital Media Card Reader
    9 USB 2.0 Ports (5 Front, 4 Rear)
    HDMI Port
    eSATA Port

    THANK YOU!

I had a similar problem couple of patches ago .. since The Burning crusade, the patch downloads have been real twitchy and i think every patch has had reports of problems (pls correct me if im wrong)

Patches since WoltK release have had reported issues with the downloader(s) and the launcher and the system just crashing or freezing, if you check out the forums technical support area .. there im sure will be a relevent thread/topic for you and shud answer your problem? if not give them a call and they will talk you thru it.

check out that link above, its a start .. it took me a little while to get round it, but i followed their steps and it worked in the end. ;)

    Hope that helps? :highfive:

Had similar problem. resolved by uninstalling antivirus and reinstalling after completing installation of WOW.

Computers don't shut down from being frozen. Chances are your power settings are set to automatically shut down after a period of time.

I just installed WOW on a friends brand new pc. The update you're referring to took hours to install, and yes are around 87% I thought it was never going to advance, but it did. We sat by the computer the whole time and every time the screen saver popped on, I wiggled the mouse. Yeah I could have turned that off too, but it was no biggie.

I know nothing about WOW or Vista, nor do I want to, but I was surprised at how the game knew she had installed Burning Crusade on another computer and automatically downloaded and installed it. Very impressive to say the least. I guess that info is kept on the server with her account.

Download speed can also depend on your type of internet connection, hopefully it's not dail up, as I could see that just being a losing battle.

    Good luck.
