    Hello,
my neighbour is having some PC problems and asked me to have a look, I found a lot of spyware on there ,so removed , but he said that Warcraft still runs slow.
The PC is a Dell optiplex 150 running 996MHz with 256MB SDram.
I said the pc spec will not help, so he is looking to get a new one, but in the meantime are there any tweaks I can do to Windows to get the game to run faster please?

Also he runs Norton security suite, is the gamers edition faster?

Not really man. Short of reinstalling windows to start from scratch, that machine is very outdated. Anything you put on there will be using resources that computer doesnt have. If he is looking to be able to play games, hes going to need an upgraded computer.
However, upgrading the ram on that machine will help in the mean time if he wants to spend money on it.

    Thanks for the answer
would removing Norton and installing avast and another firewall, use less resources?

Not sure. I dont know how much memory norton uses compared to avast. You can give it a try though. i would definitely recommend getting more ram though either way if your friend wants to spend money on that machine.
