world of warcraft!

hey all
i was just wondering what you all think of world of warcraft
i enjoy it alot and cannot wait until retail
i'm currently playing open beta but there is a fair bit of lag

but other than that i love it

 

I've been beta testing it for a few months, looking forward to retail.

It's another MMORPG, not much new or different gameplay wise. I love the look of the game, but it is a personal issue I guess. My favorite feature is the quest-driven advancement. No more mindlessly killing creatures for XP. It also matches up well with my more casual-gamer free time. I can get something done in 30 minutes and I can do it solo if I want to.

My brother, has 2 level 60 characters and he is going to play retail too, so I guess it must have some level of enjoyment for the hardcores.

 

there really isnt much lag at all. way better then the stress tests.
and any lag is with the database back end when looting and accessing inventory. its not like you were fighting and all of a sudden lag and die like in the stress tests.

 

I only got in the open beta...

To be honest, I wasn't all that impressed. I'm not a big fan of the cartoony style, and I dislike the lack of downtime cuz everyone just levels like crazy. Also not a big fan of the use of currency for both items and skills. (there should be skill points and money, if you ask me, but I guess lots of games are on a similar system). The game really didnt click for me as much as I wanted it to. I'm sure it'll be immensely popular for months/years to come.

It may be back to Lineage 2 for me :/

 

So your saying you prefer bots + sweat farm toons rather then a game that prevents that; and removes everything that is ussaly negative in an Mmorpg , ie downtime, uncontrolled economy, ebay selling, etc. I doubt that you had a chance to really play the game in OB theres just not enuff time to do all the good stuff CB allows you to do.

 

LMAO, where did I say anything about bots and "sweat farm toons"? Pretty sure I didnt say I like uncontrolled economy or ebay selling either. Good try, though. As far as downtime, I like my lvl 50 chars to feel like they've dedicated serious time to the game... not just a few hours of casual playing each day. And, I assure you there will be ebay selling in WoW just like every mmorpg on the planet. Also, the economy will depend largely upon the players... so to say that WoW's economy will be better than any other game is stupid.

Next time dont put words in my mouth (especially stupid words like "sweat farm toons") and I will decided which games I like and dislike and for what reasons.

 

yes, WoW is amazing I too have been playing the open beta. Playing as a Hunter Dwarf and wow was it fun. Really good enviroment and all. But about what you said about the lag... you have to understand in betas the makers "make" lag so when the game is out for retail they know how to deal with it and fix it as quickly as possible. I havnt got the game yet but plan on it for Xmas CANT wait! hah cya around maybe

Well you said you prefer L2 which is just tons of bots and massive amounts of farmers that ruin experiance. I never said the WoW economy is better then any game; thats you putting words in my mouth. WoW was made to prevent almost any type of of farming in selling; money doesnt take too much factor into the game other then buying a mount at lv40/60. Of course there will always be ebay sellings but im sure they will be locked up if WoW requests it like other mmorpgs have.
