worm win32/small

we have a hard drive that we are unable to boot to, even in safe mode we get a blue screen with session initialization failed and then constantly reboots to check disk. we removed the hard drive and scanned with antimalware which found the win32/small backdoor worm. ran catchme which found that the ntdll modification. how do we deal with this seeing that we cant boot to the hard drive in existing machine...we are working through usb dock only on another machine.

USB docks and converters etc. don't always work with all diagnostic/troubleshooting softwares. Better to hook up the drive as an internal slave in another PC if you can.

You could try the recent Microsoft Connect antimalware boot CD. Connect the drive back into the original computer then boot to the CD. It might remove some of the remaining malware, if there is any, I've no idea if it can repair any infected Windows files though.
