would anyone know why,

would anyone know why when i put a cd in my computer then it acts like it knows its there but there is nothing showing up no icons ,same thing with the floopy drive .thinks its there but its not also when i download a msvbvm.dll file then open it up it sees the read me file but it dont see the dll file. do you think the computer is missing a component or a certain file ..im using wndows 98 SE. appreciate your help..thanks ..scott..

 

ive found the problem which i went to the folder options and chose ,,show all hidden files..it was kinda stumpy..but glad to get this...
