Would this card work?

hey guys would this graphics card work for HL2 and DoomIII?? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=929561&Sku=P450-8505

 

I know for Hl2 since I have seen how they do their engine and all of their textures (walls, characters and such). But I don't know about doom 3 since well it's a pretty hard on the vga card. You can probably use it for doom 3 except, well don't expect to use all high settings. You'll probably can get away with some high settings that's if you have a good processor and your ram is purchased and installed to it's maximum performance (dual channel).

 

I would imagine it would work, but it would also depend on the rest of your setup, you could get away with lower settings, but who wants low settings?If it was me I would go for an ATI card, might spend a little more, but worth it.

 

whats the ATI? and my desktop sucks, 40 gig, like 1.7 processor, and like 128 RAM, not good at all ( laptop better then it hah! )

 

Eek Eek Eek!!! Yea with that config well I dont 'know how your really going to run doom 3. Ya know. Doom 3 is like Farcry, majorly intense on the components that are in your computer. But yea Go Ati. I'm an Ati guy and they very stable and I can depend on it to work every day. Ati rox the HouSe!!!! If I were you I would probably start looking at another compy unless your a counter strike guru <-- used to be (cal - o) it's all good than yea you should be fine with that computer just upgrade the ram.

 

well this comp is a family comp... the only comp that is mine is my laptop, i want to buy my own comp but i only have like $500, and im sure i cant buy a good comp for that lol, and are you sayin to upgrade my RAM and get a new card and that can play Doom3? or do i just need a new comp lol, i dont really wanna upgrade the family one b/c everyone gets on it and i cant get on it everyday so i just be wasten money... this sucks
