would this work or not? (graphic card)

im looking for a good graphics card for my desktop its got speed but integrated graphics. my friends had extra graphic cards i tried to fit it in but the bracket gets in the way as its to short but the part that goes into the motherboard it looks as it could fit but since the bracket gets in the way i dont want to force it in and break the computer. but here are my pc specs:
amd athalon x4 630 quad core 2.8ghz
4gb ddr3 ram
integrated ati 4200 256mb(my laptop run better and its only got 64mb)

the graphics card is a ati 2400 xt 256mb i checked it and it does say pci express x16 which is what my motherboard has

also im looking into a ati Radeon HD 5450 asus with 1gb vram

so will this work for now or do i have to wait till i get the other one?

 

What's the make and model of your computer? This will help determine the design of the graphics card (bracket is currently getting in the way).
