WoW Account Theft Attempt

I've been playing WoW for awhile and today I can't get into my account. So I go into the password account recovery and get a new password. I was able to get back into my account This is the second time this happened, but this time the hacker tried to change the account e-mail. I didn't link the confirmation link so the e-mail didn't change. Luckily nothing was missing on any of my characters. Anyway to prevent this from happening again?

Yes, scan your system for a keylogger asap. Most anti-spyware apps should detect anything. Typically, this can happen from a third party addon you downloaded that was not legit and had a keylogger bundled with it. Try and be careful with those, the more popular addons are usually a better bet. Because Wow is so popular, it is a huge target for Chinese farmers and there is no reprecussions to them because they are in China.

If your not using third party add-ons, Google for wow keyloggers and do some research to find out HOW they got to you, so you can avoid this problem. Links I found to the Wow site are gone, my guess is they police so well, that most problems are quickly resolved and then delete threads to avoid looking bad.

Seems to be huge this crime. 4 people i know have had there accounts hacked in the last 3 weeks. All there items were sold and there banks emptied. (game bank for non players).

2 of the people were lucky enough to get there stuff back. 1 got part of there stuff back. The other guy go given nothing back at all. Blizzard should really deal with it better, people spend a lot of time getting there characters to where they are.

Im pretty nervous about this kinda thing too.

Yea its blizzards fault that people share accounts, and download random shit and get passwords stolen. You gotta figure lots of people try to scaM blizzard out of items too.
