LoL! I cooked lamb for my Australia Day dinner today actually. It wasn't a rack, it was a leg, but it turned out pretty good anyway. I'm not even an official citizen here, but any excuse will do, eh.


Oh, b.t.w., we had a Cockatiel, or Weiro, I think they're called too, but it died, along with most of the rest of my life, a few years back. This one 'adopted' us, so to say - and used to talk.

That's ok. I celebrated Independence Day last year and I'm not yet a citizen and don't have the full luxuries of independence here yet either. I think it's great to embrace the culture and foundations of the country you are in, regardless of your status there

I tried to get everyone to celebrate Bonfire Night, but they just didn't get it. They couldn't understand why I wanted to push a stuffed 'guy' round in a wheelbarrow collecting pennies when I have a perfectly well-paying job! lol

Can't find fireworks here in November, but you can let them off in the middle of your street and no cop will bat an eyelid. Do that in England and you'd get arrested It's so confusing for me
