Wrong cpu speeds

    i recently bought a amd 2700 wich is a 2.17 gh processor. well ii installed it and it first read at about 1.3gh and now it reads at 1.75gh i dont no wat im missing but i dont no how to get it at its normal speed. my guess is the bios but how do i update them?>? if tahts wat the problem is

    you need to make sure your running your FSB at 166 DDR (333), you should
    be able to set it in the bios, or on the m/b with dip switches, (you may need
    your m/b manual).
