Wrong install disc

I put a 'virgin' hard drive in a spare system with the aim of installing Windows 98. I had a 'brain fart' when I turned the system on and an XP install disc was left in the drive. It started the install process and its only when it got to the 'do you want to install Windows XP' bit that I realised my mistake and cancelled it.

It managed to do all the preinstall part though, installing various drivers and all the odds and ends it puts on before it's ready to install the OS. Does this now mean it has put stuff on that makes it impossible to do a straight forward install of 98? Will I have to reformat the drive before I can install 98?

more than likely your gonna have to reformat the h/d (it'd be best), before you install 98. - g/l, sos
