Wrong Specs?

Hey.... I just bought an xfx fatal1ty 8500gt for my computer....and I was wondering about something.... When I was looking at the case it came with it. It shows the key features on the back and I saw that it says:

"850 MHz Memory Clock is 20% faster that standard 8500 GT" (attached pic)

And when I use gpu-z it says nothing about 850 MHz... (also attached pic)

Is this a manufacturers mistake.... or is it talking about something else.....

 

the ram is listed as 425 which when doubled (ddr double duty rate or something close to that) gives you 850

 

LOL :foolish Actually it's Dual Data Rate. And you're right. Becuase it's DDR, you multiply the memory clock by 2 (425mhz x 2 = 850mhz)

 

So does that mean GDDR3 is multiplied by 3 in GPU-z??

 

Well I also had another question about the 8500 GT...
I previously had a geforce 6800 ( the plain one) and when I overclock it I can squeeze 30 gigs of bandwith out of it... I have tried overclocking the 8500 and the max bandwith I get is 19 gigs/sec. Does that mean that I can get better performance from the 6800?
If yes, than should I put the 6800 back in?

 

Well I put the 6800 back in and I can't really see a difference... I downloaded fraps and there actually the same in fps... so the only thing the 8500 gt has over the 6800 is the dx10....
