Wrong Versions often Posted on MG!

The following programs always have wrong versions on MG, for example, it would say one version number, but when you download it you get the same previous version..

- uTorrent
- TeamViewer
- Internet Download Manager



And now............ Microsoft Autoruns 11.3 when you download it, you get the same old 11.22 version

I hope there would be some quality checks on MG before you jump to posting new versions of files and disappointing and misinforming others

 

I think this particular one may be on the Sysinternals site http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902
It announces 11.3, but the download is actually 11.22

Sometimes updates are deployed to the download servers, but it just takes a while for the new download to become available to the public.

Also, sometimes a download is withdrawn after the initial announcement. (I am not talking about Sysinternals specifically, but any software download site.)

Sysinternals/Microsoft updated Autoruns only yesterday, it's a little harsh criticizing a free service for that, your postal service would struggle to get a hard copy direct from Russinovich in that time.

I checked TeamViewer too, updated as per the latest version on the makers site:

(it has an update checker built-in that takes 2-3 clicks to trigger anyway).

 

About TeamViewer, I meant when a new version is posted on MG, you download it, only to discover that TeamViewer prompts you to update again to that said version, so the actual installers are of old versions, same with uTorrent

I know it's not MG's fault, but then why post them when they haven't been updated?

Ok now it's fixed, I just redownloaded Autoruns and it was version 11.3

 

For future reference, if you get another problem with a download being an incorrect/old version (allowing a reasonable time for testing and server synch., etc.), return to the main product page here on MG's and click the Report a bad link and fill in the relevant details. The link is on the right side, under the Ratings dropdown.

 

In the case of Autoruns, the download is right from the Author's site, not from a Majorgeeks mirror server.
