WRT120N router

I picked up a wireless router for free last night for doing some computer work that I'm having some trouble with. I've read online that a lot of them have trouble with dropping the connection after around a day and not assigning an IP address, but I still see the network on wireless (comes up with 0.0.0.0). I can connect to the router from the wired computer. I am connected with a cable modem that works fine without the router.

I tried setting it up manually with the following settings, hoping to reduce the chances of it failing.

Mixed BG
Channel 11
WPA Personal
Beacon interval 1000
Fragmentation threshold and RTS threshold at 2304
SPI firewall protection off
No restrictions
UPnP disabled

I'm connecting the following devices in my house, not all at the same time:
2 Macbooks (Snow Leopard)
1 Windows PC (Windows XP)
1 iPod Touch

The most I've had running at the same time was the Windows PC connected wired, not in use, a Macbook, and an iPod Touch. I've had it disconnect with just one Macbook in use, though.

EDIT: Unplugging the router for 30 seconds fixes it but it has been happening every 30 minutes.

It's entirely possible that the reason that you got it for free was because it was defective.

Update the firmware on your router, and then report back if that doesn't correct the issue.

Well, the router was brand new, unopened, they didn't need it, so I'm sure they were being honest with me, but it seems to have straightened itself out now, at least to a bearable point. It still needs reset once every few days, but I can live with that. Updating and downgrading the firmware have no affect and I had my ISP come out to test for any defective cords throwing signals out, but there were none.

I probably should have posted a while ago, but I guess I would consider this issue solved unless you really want to help me with it, since it is no longer dropping every half hour.
