WSAStartup issues=no internet

Maleware did me in, now I have no internet. I have been using thread in your maleware forum and now that I am clean they sent me here, here is the error i am getting...
error occurred renewing interface Local area Connection: WSAStartup cannot function at this time because the underlying system it uses to provide network services is currently unavailable.
I show 100mbp connection wired and 56 wireless, says connected but limited on both. No internet, no IP, help!
I am also getting pop up messages everytime I close a program about it not being able to write to certain memory, this is for almost every program. Help please.

 

Agreed that clean is only the start most of the time.:cry
With that said, i know a fresh install is quickest and cleanest but If avaoidable I would like to fix without the format.
MAchine is running windows XP home, i am at SP2 thanks to maleware, I was able to load IE7 last night, but I get connected at full speed with limited or NO connectivity. it does not pull an ip, it just uses the windows default.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter, no change. I would love to be able to recover from this but if it looks like weeks to fix I may have to go the reformat route. I just spent a lot of time getting it clean and it runs great except for this one last issue. Any further info you need, i will get to you, Thanks again for at least listening, any help would be greatly appreciated.
