WU stuck?

Hello again folders,

Any ideas would be welcome, I'm about to mess up another WU. It keeps getting to 91 finishes 91, but then either shuts down, error says "interrupted" or just sits there on 91, does not continue...says core is fine. I downloaded EM to look at it, but not much info to look at. Tried restart, but same results either stuck or shuts down. Has been at 91 for days now.

Has happened a few times on the wifes, plus a few others have had it, your running the console client right Cat? Try shutting down F@H manually then restart; one joy with the graphic its just a little easier to shutdown from desktop. If not just uninstall F@H and reinstall save the Work File before uninstall, the new reinstalled core will look for the work file and should resume working. failing that just dump the whole F@H folder after an uninstall, and reload a new client, the numbers on the new client will not be the correct number of completed units, but your actual tally with F@H will not change just your client, so you will not lose anything except the work on that Work Unit.

It is not unknown to have a WU, that has been improperly written, and freezes, they are found and the units pulled and rewritten, but that doesn't help the poor ones that are trying to get the defective units completed. It seems worse during the Summer, when maybe the peer review is not a stringent. I had two last summer, so just dump and reload

Just a note to all F@H comes out with improved clients every so often and sometimes it improves performance to uninstall an old client version for the latest. But as pointed out to Cat your completed WU#s will start from 0 on the new core, but your tally with F@H continues to increment as it did in the past. Hope that helps Cat meow

Good news for a change it started again on 92 now. Like to tell you what I did to get it to start, but don't know. I uninstalled EMIII and poked around in FH files, restarted...it worked. Think I can save the other one too after this one finishes, so all is well again...for now Thanks again BCGray for patting me on the back and keeping me from giving in, just took one more effort.
