After bringing my son's computer home from school and plugging in the usb adapter, I receive the BSOD and soon as I get logged on. This is a Dell computer using Windows XP SP3, with a Linksys WRT54G router and a WUSB54Gv2 adaptor. As soon as the internet logs on to the home page I receive the BSOD. I tried the instructions from Linksys and uninstalled the program and the drivers and reinstalled but still have the same problem. I'm downloading the program and drivers from Linksys. I know there is someone on this site that can help. This is a great site for solutions, so don't let me down.

What is the purpose of the "WUSB54Gv2 adaptor" what does it do, is it the device that receives signal from the router to the laptop? In this case id probably just get frustrated if even uninstalling and re installing the drivers for it didn't resolve the issue; and buy a new adaptor or just use the laptops built in wireless. If it doesn't have one Go to walmart or something and get the little wireless usb adaptor or get a wireless card for your laptop.

biogenesis, WUSB54G is a USB wireless adapter(dongle) for computers that don't have wireless. I run two of them with my WRT54G router. The OP never mentioned if the computer is a desktop or laptop. I have the device working in two desktop computers.

You fire up a browser (which one and version), you go to a home page (which one), you get a BSOD. Please give the number before the ( ) with the BSOD and any words appearing.

Uninstall the wireless software. Plug the computer directly to the router. Does it work?
I'm trying to isolate if it is a hardware or a software problem.
