This is not the wysiwyg you may know... I am looking for users of the wysiwyg by cast software.
I am in Lighting Design- a very new job, and am looking for contacts who are using this software.
It is a simulation program that I will be using to show clients how their lighting design will look.

I am specifically looking for information on the best way to prep a VectorWorks drawing before importing into wysiwyg.

To let you know a bit about my process....
The Set Designer will get a drawing of the theatre from the theatre's architect- usually AutoCAD, they will add the set and send it to me. I will import into VectorWorks, make changes, add lighting instruments and info to export to LightWright to generate circuitry paperwork, and then we will import into wysiwyg to do the simulation. We can also use wysiwyg to program the lighting console... crazy fun stuff... If I can just know what the heck I am doing!

I am 'slightly' frantic because I lost my training notes...

Any info, links, moral support etc., would be appreciated!
    Thanx

    Update

So, I did have to explode in AutoCAD before opening in wysiwyg... fyi.

If you read this, just post a 'hello' I am new around here... and I see 14 people looked but no replies... :(

    Thanx ?

    Diving right in

Well, while that is a great idea, I am not ready to annoy him - yet.

I am actually doing ok, getting ready to create surfaces... I would rather extrude but the drawing isn't ready for that...

I think losing the notes has forced me to just get in and try. I just have to remember what I did when I get it right. I have noticed that trial and error can be a good way to figure these things out, only if you keep track of what works and what doesn't. I have several times thought, "That was easy, but how did I do it?

Thanks for the reply! I will update you on my progress.
Hey! That would be a great way to keep track of the rights and wrongs.
    Thanks again!
