WYSIWYG for PHP

Looking for a nice WYSIWYG PHP script that could be added to a site, or at least help to write one...

I want to use this to make things easier for admins to modify page contents.

I'm attempting to create my own site structure instead of using a premade one like Mambo or PHPNuke

 

Um, php is WYSIWYG. At least as much as it can be. You're not going to find anything that says that though, since it would be silly.

php is decoded server side. So it's going to do the same thing no matter what browser is used. HTML is not, but you can just use a normal WYSIWYG editor in conjunction with PHP. WYSIQYG is only a term that applies to html, it doesn't really apply to PHP at all.

 

I understand that... but to make my site more user friendly... I want to add a GUI interface where people can use a posting function to edit things.

What I was hoping to have is something that could either:

Have buttons that would yeild the according HTML tags to the function (much like what you find on forums except for BB code)

or

Having buttons that show you exactly what will be posted.

I dont need anything too snazzy...Bold, Italics, Underline, justifications, indent, bullets, image, hyperlink, code, and smilies.

 

I'm not even really sure I know what you're talking about anymore. From the sound of it you're looking for something that is going to do the programming for you. The actual design and showing the buttons is going to be done using plain old html. Any html editor can handle that for you.

Making the buttons work will require a scripting language, but to make them work you're going to have to write the code yourself. In your case it sounds like you actually want to use javascript and not php for most of this.
