X2 5000 seems to have disappeared

Does anyone know why the AMD X2 5000 is suddenly hard to get? I ordered a system with one two months ago and am still waiting for the CPU to arrive. I've been looking all over the place for one, and no one has it. I've seen ETAs anywhere from the 11th to sometime in September, but chances are those will change as soon as the date arrives.

BTW, no "Intel is the new king" crap, even though it has proven true. Again, I ordered two months ago, before the Core 2 Duos were released, the big AMD price cuts, AMD/ATI merge, etc, so don't tell me what I should've bought because I couldn't pre-order and wasn't expecting to wait this long.

 

I cant even seem to see the AM2 4800 anymore. That and the 5000 were on Pricewatch for a little while and then poof they were gone.

I dont buy into the whole Core Duo 2 or whatever craze. Supposedly they were supposed to match the AMD price wise, and so far they are about 3 times as expensive.

I still have yet to see a test that suggests that spending 3 times as much will justify the cost.

 

The 4800 has been discontinued, and I hope the 5000 didn't follow the same path.
Well, I was just given an offer to upgrade to the FX-62 for an additional $150, and I'm thinking about accepting by around Tuesday (by then another ETA I read, the 14th, will have passed) rather than waiting who knows how long until the 5000s come in.
