X2 the threat!!!!

Hello there peeps....I just bought a copy of X2 'The Threat'.for 99p. But I'm havin trouble installin it on vista?? it was realised before vista was anyways....I've been to egosoft(the makers of the game) website and a few people have recommmended different tips on how to install it on vista but none o them have worked so far....i'm running out of ideas?? Has anyone outhere been able to install it on vista, and how did they do it??

yo doods...I've tried em all!! I've Ran as administrator...as sugested. As ran it in compatability mode...I've downloaded all the upgrades for it and installed them...then tried to install the game and it gives me a none decipherable error message..(I can't remember what it was at the mo). I've tried taking it to lunch, buying it flowers....just keeps gvin me the cold shoulder doods.This is what happened last time:
I insalled it from the disk...It says downloading...then it says that it's nott fully installed..But doesn't give me a reason. Thats when I went online and tried all the meathods under the sun...including the ones you've suggested. But nowt taken owt, it's doin my head in......it's fcukt up. I think i'll throw it in the bin!!!

ummm.....maybe the disk is scratched? at this point it seems either that or the game just isnt going to work

According to XE currency converter. It's $1.46 at the current rate...So I thought I got a bargain...turns out, it was a bag o doody...ah well....is it a good game??? When I bought it it seemed to remind me of an old game I had on my Amiga 1200 when I was a kid...FRONTIER ELITE II...Ah well. Cheers for all your help guys any ways.....

EDIT: i saw you mentioned elite, you might want to check out this game, it seems to be a modern day remake
