X800 XL vs. X800 Pro -- confused!

I've been looking at the X800 line of AGP cards and I'm confused about something. On the ATI site, I've looked at the comparison between X800 XL and X800 Pro. The X800 Pro is $100 more than the XL (the prices listed on the ATI site indicate $299 for the XL and $399 for the Pro).

My question is... I can't see why the PRO is $100 more. The Pro has 12 pipelines vs the XL's 16. The Pro has a pixel fillrate of 5.7 gigapixels vs 6.4 gigapixels for the XL. The Pro has a memory clock speed of 450 vs 490 for the XL.

The Pro does have an engine clock speed of 475 vs 400 for the XL, and a geometry rate of 712.5 million triangles vs 600 million triangles for the XL. I'm assuming then that this makes all the difference (and thus the higher price tag)?

 

After checkin that does seem to be the differnce (100 bucks dont go as far as it used to)
I am thinkin, unless you are a heavy gamer save the 100 and go buy some other toys.
Or just wait a while (1st of the year) and they will probably be even cheaper

One question I have is about the power supply.

If a card states that it needs a 350w power supply, does that mean that I can buy just a 350w power supply and be good, or does that not include the power that the other devices in the pc need?

 

It will run everything through a 350w, but you could run into problems. Why run it at just the bare minimum, when you could just get a 450 or 500 watter and have no problems and not have to worry about upgrading or adding later on
