xbox 360 media sharing 2 cpu nightmare

i have a problem connecting 2 cpu to xbox 360 wirelessly. My laptop and my desktop are wireless as is the xbox. laptop will connect to xbox live and share media with wmp11. the laptop works fine, but the problem is media sharing with the desktop. Wmp11 picks up the xbox, however xbox cannot detect the desktop. All ports are open that are required for sharing, but there must be a little setting I am overlooking, please help!:confused

 

ok you said all computer are wireless right? The laptop is alright.

Is the Desktop able to connect to internet?

Can the Desktop ping the Xbox and the Laptop?

Does the Desktop have WMP11 too?

If you could throw some IPs and ipconfigs at me that would be awsome.:major

 

Did you go though the media center extender setup on the xbox?

Well you shouldnt have to run anything on your Xbox. I just recently did all this not a week ago for someone. Just run the update for WMP 11 on the pc you want, and then allow media sharing on WMP 11 and on your xbox go to Shared Music/videos/pictures and you should see your computers name. Also make sure allowed File sharing on yoru network/computer.:major

 

okay, i know it's been a while since my first post, but all my software is updated, wmp11 is configured to share and picks up the xbox on my desktop. but the weird thing is that my laptop worked fine. remember that i changed routers from a wireless g to a n router, thats when the problem started, so after many hours talking to a number of xbox supports finest, i finally found someone who told me that there are a few additional ports, ontop of the usual tcp udp ports that appear on the xbox troubleshooting tips, that should be open as well. after opening the new ports everything works fine. thank you for your time and interest in this problem, if you need any more info i will be happy to help. problem resolved.
