I really have no clue on where to put topics regarding game consoles. So, since my question is hardware based, I'm going to stick it in here, lol. Sorry if this topic is in the wrong place.

    Anyways,

I have a Xbox 360 CD/DVD drive that the motor went bad on so it barely spins the disc which causes the system not to read any games. What I was wondering is, could I take a normal computer CD drive motor and replace the 360 motor with the one I took from a normal CD drive?

I herd you can replace them yourself but it's very tricky and will void your warranty if you have one. You cant just stick any drive in there. You can buy a drive but you have to pull the board off the bad drive and put it on the new drive.

If done incorrectly you can get your console ban from Xbox live.

Best bet would be to take it to somebody that can do it or ask Microsoft what it would cost.

    Good luck
