    jarcher I can't handle a title

I recently had a misfortunate happening with my x box and had to reset the whole damn thing. . loosing most of my saves and such.
I copied what I could onto memory cards, but the ones I wanted the most where just to damn big(the files)

    so I was thinking. . .
instead of making a bigger capacity memory card, why not just an external hdd
you can plug it in throgh the mem slot and copy to the drive. .its still small, and portable. . .any thoughts?

they can sell them with extra content and stuff for us non live gamers?

Just for curosity how did you reset it? I have one that we have tried all the codes we have been able to find and haven't been able to get it to take any of them. Also you can change the harddrive out to a larger drive.

that I do know, but why can't it exist
they make back up hdd for PC's the xbox is just a pc, really
if I ever have to reset it again, I would like to be able to save the games that are too large for memory cards

after entering a few codes, one just worked. .if one cannot be found, just call them they will have the one needed on file

Umm... a quick question. What codes are you refering too, and where do you put them in on the xbox? like what are some examples.

lets say something happens, and the software that runs the games takes a crap, and you cannot play them

the games wont load, or the title screen is all you get, the dashboard doesn't work
and you get a prompt stating your xbox needs serviced, nothing specific, no fault code/numbers

an option would be to reset everything (by resetting everything it more or less just reinstalls it to factory condition erasing everything you have saved, game saves, music. .

by putting the correct sequence of buttons(x,y,L,up whatever) to your specific xbox it will erase everything, so you have to start all over

it would be done in system info

You might give Llamma.com a look or xbox-scene.com they have info on mods for the xbox. BTW if you loose the ser# of the bottom of the xbox they can't give you a reset code. It would have been to simple to have made them all with the same reset code.
