Xbox Live NHL 09 connectivity

Hi guys,

I'm not sure if this belongs here, but it's the closest topic I could find. I play "Online Team Play" in NHL 09 for Xbox 360. It's a mode that supports team vs team play, from 2-on-2 up to 6-on-6. I have no problems playing the game or connecting to the XBOX or EA servers.

I can play games involving 8 people or less. Meaning, I can play 4 on 4, 6 on 2, 5 on 3, etc, or anything less than that. However, every time there is between 9 and 12 people involved in the game, I get an "You have lost connection to your opponent" message after the initial loading screen. For most people it works - they can continue into the game, with no problem. For myself and a couple other people, we consistently get dropped.

Since most others do not have this problem, I originally suspected it was a problem with my router. I've opened all the ports on the xbox, therefore enabling DMZplus mode. The problem still exists.

I am currently using a 2701HG-G Gateway high speed wireless modem. The xbox is directly connected.

Are there any suggestions for further steps I can take to try to resolve the matter? Thanks.

Delete NHL from your hard drive completely. Run it directly from the CD.

It's a weird fix, but it's a fix. Has something to do with the older 360 systems and load times from the HD.

it doesn't work for me and i never even installed it on the hard drive..i've always ran it off the cd (which i just bought 2 weeks ago) and it always connection losses ...it is very annoying..my xbox is new bought it in october...any ideas?

 

This is a weird but fairly common glitch -- it's pretty easy to fix though. First sign out of your Live account. Go into your console's settings blade and reset the date to the furthest back date that is possible (it's like february 2005 or something like that). Then re-start your Xbox. Sign back in with your Live account. When you restart, the console will re-update the correct date and this somehow fixes the EA account sign-in glitch. It's very weird but it works.

 

hey, i have the exact opposite problem that you were having. I can play team play and shootouts, but when i try to play a versus game it just says ive lost connection to my opponent as soon as the game loads. Any ideas on how to fix it?
